In the ever-growing world of artisan condiments, few stories are as compelling — or as flavoursome — as that of Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Hot Sauce. Born out of passion, creativity and a decade-long personal obsession with chilli heat, this hot sauce brand has carved out a loyal following across the UK and beyond.
From DJ Booth to Sauce Bottle
Elliot Eastwick isn’t your typical food entrepreneur. Before becoming a sauce-maker, he was a well-known DJ at Manchester’s legendary Hacienda and later a breakfast show host on local radio. But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, circumstances nudged him in a new direction. With more time on his hands and a long-standing love for homemade hot sauces, Elliot turned his hobby into a business venture from his front living room
Armed with no savings, no budget and a lot of enthusiasm, he launched World Famous Hot Sauce in November 2020 — a bold move that paid off almost immediately. Thanks to social media buzz and early endorsements from notable names like Bonehead and Badly Drawn Boy, the orders began rolling in, and the sauce quickly found fans across the north of England and beyond
Though orders can be placed online, Elliot’s sauces have gained significant popularity at local producers’ markets, particularly in the Manchester area, where they’re regularly spotted alongside handmade foods and artisanal produce. Fans appreciate the sauce not just for the heat but for its versatility — from drizzling over pizza and fried eggs to boosting peanuts or enlivening homemade relishes.
