Wood Street mission provide practical support to local children across Manchester and Salford by providing essentials such as clothing, bedding, toiletries, toys, school uniform and much more.
We run five projects to help children break the cycle of poverty –
- Family basics – Provision of clothing, toiletries etc every 3 months
- Smart Start – We send new school uniform packs directly to families houses
- Books Forever – We visit a different school every month in areas in need of books and provide every school child with 5 free books to take home and are theirs forever
- Childhood experiences – We take children to fun day trips that they would otherwise not have the chance to go on
- Christmas – We provide free Christmas toys to the families we support throughout the year to ensure no child wakes up with presents on Christmas
