I’m Ross, and Spectrum Woodwright is my Manchester-based hardwood craft business, where I make functional pieces for the home from solid exotic hardwoods.
Everything I make starts with the wood itself. I work with a range of species chosen for their natural colour, grain, and character from the deep purple of purple heart to the warm reds of padauk and the rich dark tones of wenge and let those qualities speak without interference.
No dyes, no stains, no peeling veneers, no imitation materials. What you see is exactly what it is.
My current range centres on chopping boards and end grain checkerboards, each built from carefully considered species combinations that make the most of the natural contrast between timbers. I also make smaller home accessories, with wall art, inlay work, and jewellery in development.
