We set up Small Joys because we love Asian desserts and wanted to bring a fresh take on them to local UK markets.
Our focus is mochi—a soft Japanese rice cake made from steamed glutinous rice that has been enjoyed for generations. Instead of serving it the traditional way, we layer it into portable cups with fresh fruit, light cream, and biscuit bases so you get a bit of soft, creamy, and crunchy in every bite.
Everything is prepped by hand in small batches with proper hygiene standards. We’re just really keen to share a taste of Japanese dessert culture with everyone at the market!
