Slab and Platter really is what is says on the tray-bake.
- Slab: a large, thick slice or piece of cake, bread, chocolate, etc.
- Slab: colloquially, a term for a particularly heavy vinyl, such as 180g or 200g pressings
- Platter: a variety of foods served on the same plate
- Platter: while less common today, “platter” is slang term for a vinyl record itself
Founded at a rave in Stretford Mall hosting Bicep, Slab and Platter specialised in hand-baked goods, and hand-picked selections. You won’t find just any bakes or records here!
One of us is a full-time chef, and other a vinyl trader – but why limit yourself to have one treat or the other?
Our bakes are all SLABS and have been tried and tested – plus, they are all completely original recipes that you won’t find anywhere else. We literally CREATED them! And our records? Hand cleaned, sourced and processed with boxes filled with rarities and big hitters you don’t normally come across. We mix things up all the time – and our main goal? To have you leave with a completely new experience – be that musically, or confectionary.
