Saucily was born out of lockdown and co founded by myself (Peter) and my wife Sherie. I attended catering college when i left school and I always remembered one of our tutors teaching us to make a red wine jus which was absolutely delicious. I made this one night during lockdown and gave it to my my wife and kids who loved it but our kids favourite sauce has always been peppercorn from a particular restaurant here in Liverpool. They set me a challenge to make a peppercorn nicer that Maranto’s which after a few tries I managed to achieve. Sherie said to me that I should start selling it but I didn’t have the first clue about how we would go about that so I left it but she kept on at me to give it a go. After a long while I decided we should give it a go so made a batch of sauce and gave it out to family and friends who all loved the sauce so we made more and sent some off for shelf life testing while I set about designing our logo and pouch. After the 6 month shelf life tests were completed we went and done our very first Maker market in Cheadle and our sauce went down great with the customers. We have since added another 3 sauces to the range and our sauces are available in retailers right across the UK. We always get a massive buzz when we see our sauces in shops and an even bigger buzz when we know that people all over the UK love our sauces. We’ve even had emails on Christmas day from one customer to say the red wine sauce made their Christmas dinner ( they had Venison with it ).
