Ruth created Rolk whilst at university at Nottingham Trent, a brand offering you quirkful laser cut, wooden jewellery and homewares. Rolk is an abbreviation of the words ‘rare’ and ‘folk’ describing those that would be fond of her work, people that like something different, rare. Her designs are often inspired by nature, illustrated with a geometric line and finished with a stitch. Now residing in near Loughborough she cuts, hand paints and stitches her pieces in her Leicester based studio at Makers Yard. Ruth is eco conscious with every choice made in her making process by utilising all the material when cutting, using fsc approved wood and paper, water based stains and sealants and reusing cardboard for her packaging.
