I only discovered seaglass and sea pottery in February 2025, I can’t believe I hadn’t known about it earlier. Since discovering this beautiful treasure I have fallen in love with it, wondering where it came from? how long it has been tumbling around in the sea?
Apparently it can take between 40-100 years for the glass to become smooth & frosted depending on wave action, sand & rock content and location.
Any opportunity I get I drive to a beach to look for more treasure, I enlist the help of my beautiful Grandchildren, family & friends….all of whom have proved to be excellent foragers!
For the past 20yrs I have worked full time managing a number of care services for adults with learning disabilities and a mental health diagnosis At times my job can be very stressful so taking time to walk on the beach can be really cathartic.
I have collected seaglass and pottery from North Wales, Crosby, The Maldives, Gozo, Turkey and the North East Coast, every piece individual with its beautiful shape, colour and history.
Thankyou for taking the time to read about my seaglass journey.
