After an A Level in ceramics and then taking almost thirty years away from clay, Elicia (newly diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis) began throwing in 2021 as a form physical rehabilitation. It took one weekend to catch the pottery bug! Since then, she has been creating thrown and hand built pottery items and selling at local markets. Elicia, a member of the Northern Potters Association, has become adept at raku firing, a process she conducts in her back garden, where she is lucky enough to now have a small studio. In 2023, Elicia spent a summer interning at a pottery studio in Tajimi, Japan, where she learned Japanese hand building and Shino firing techniques.
