Before becoming a CIC, the young people and local parent (me-Anthea Cribbin) formed a social action group as there was a lack of free safe spaces to socialise in. We have met for the last four and a half years. The mantra of our young people and number one rule is to have “Good Vibes Only”. We encourage this by peer on peer positivity, respect, and pride in their community.
We actively raise awareness of issues affecting young people, including child criminal exploitation and youth violence, and support prevention through education and engagement. We have in the past supported events for the Violence Reduction Unit. Many of our GVO particpants were also part of the VRU alliance’s Youth Bank where they were in charge in assessing the grant applications of loacl young people and other businesses that work directly with young people in the area of Gorse Hill and Stretford.
All profits generated by the CIC are reinvested into projects and services that directly benefit young people and the wider community.
