Hi, I’m Frances, the painter behind FrancesLiz Watercolour. Originally from the Isle of Man, I moved here in 2010 to study at the University. I started painting in 2017, following my dad’s footsteps into watercolour and haven’t stopped since. My style and subject matter often change as I move through the ups and downs of life, but at the core of my practice, I’m interested in how the unpredictability of watercolour can capture the impermanence of a moment. My most beloved paintings are the ones where I’ve really leaned in to letting the water make decisions for me, to me, it offers infinitely more beauty that the practised brush stroke.
