I started out making bead and wire pieces with gemstones and pearls, using 925 silver and 14k gold filled findings, and have had a lovely response to that through my Etsy and my social media. I took a short Silversmithing course last year and have been teaching myself from there, I now have a good stock of handmade chains, charms, and bezel set sea glass/found pottery pieces. I find pottery shards around the Peak District and sea glass on trips out to Crosby or North Wales.
My business’ social media presence is also supported by my dog’s accounts, as he has a pretty decent following online (it’s so hard to phrase that in a way that doesn’t sound totally mad..)
I applied to the makers market last year when I was making entirely bead & wire pieces but was hoping that now my business has expanded in its offering a bit it might be worth trying again 🙂
