The name Nine Birds is a playful twist on words! In Japanese, the word “鳩” (pronounced “hato”) means “dove”, a symbol of peace. For Hongkongers, it’s also a well-known slang term, and in Cantonese, it carries the meaning of “long-lost”—just like the flavors we hope to bring back to you.
