Happy New Year From the Lowry Makers Market

Happy New Year and a great big thank you to all of our loyal shoppers who helped make our markets at The Lowry in 2016 a great success.

The fabulous and fast growing Lowry Makers Market is back with a bang on Saturday 28th January and Sunday 29th January. These are very exciting times for the Makers Market as this winter New Year market is a new and exciting experience for us all at The Lowry, however, after the success of the amazing Victorian Christmas Extravaganza and the Magical Makers Christmas Market these two events alone have well and truly put the Lowry Makers Market on the map and we are expecting thousands of our supportive shoppers to turn out to support our local traders and with your help we can make it a wonderful weekend.

Our amazing and dedicated traders have been hard at it after a well deserved break over the festive holidays and they are all fresh and raring to go with their wonderful wares. Whether you’re a pleasure seeker, epicurean, art-lover, foodie, vintage enthusiast, Mancunian, adopted Mancunian or just someone who is looking for a great day out make sure you pop down and visit the Lowry Outlet Makers Market for locally grown and baked foods, original artworks and gifts that are quirky, creative and individual.

If Arts and Crafts is what floats your boat, then ensure you stop off at No71 Legend Rooms, Eclectic Creations by Jo, Elle Bee Creations, Ditsy Glass, Ever After Occasions, Chakra Jewellery, Bubble Off, Lovely Stuff and Pretty Things and Grand Gift!

If food and drink is more up your street then fear not as we’ll have those taste buds tingling in no time at all. Remember to come along with empty tummies as there will be mouthwatering and delicious hot street food available from our awesome traders:-
In the Dog Haus serving german smoked bratwurst with an american twist, Ottomen with their wonderful middle eastern delights, be sure to check out Oh My Glaze and his New Year wraps along with burgers from Whats your Beef, Pizza from Wood Fire & Smoke, Paella from Spanish Tapas and of course crepes from Crepe Chateau.

This month expect……Open Topped Growlers from Cumbrian Pie, Doorstop sized brownies from End Of The Rainbow, cheese wheels from Cheese Is Grate, mouth watering pies from Pudding and Pie, Handmade stuffed bread from Hot Stuffed, Sweet and Savoury treats from Vanillis, authentic South African Biltong from Weston Biltong, Awesome mini cake loaves from Stuart Thornley and Sweet Nutella Samosas from Perfect Samosa. This is just a small selection of what to expect on this fabulous kick off to 2017 weekend!

If your New Years Resolution is to go Vegan, Why not pop on over to The Veggie Pie Co and check out their homemade delicious Vegan friendly pies!

Simply stroll around the market, warm those cockles at MCR Coffee Co, meet the makers and of course sample the goods from cheese to chocolate, puddings to pies, posh tarts, gluten free goodies and some seriously palatable street food and just have a wonderful couple of days!

We will attempt to keep the crowds smiling come rain or shine with entertainment from Chris Tavener – Chris is a satirical singer-songwriter, known for his comedic, witty lyrics and a vintage sound. Rather than write about himself, he wrote storytelling songs about the ironic comedy in everything from drunken romance, celebrity worship, football hooligans and small town problems.

There will also be lots of fun for the kids on Sunday as we will be joined by the fabulous story book teller Nikky! Nikky describes herself as wanting to become a Storybook. Can you and your children help her transform? Tip toeing around the market is a cheeky storyteller sprinkling riddles, dropping clues and teasing with jokes. The adventurous follow her and listen to dream like stories made especially for The Lowry Makers Market!
