The skies are blue and the distant smell of Spring is in the air. We cannot wait to be back at West Didsbury on Sunday January 29th.
With more than 100 local talented artisans signed up to this superb event which is now going into it’s 4th year, The West Didsbury Makers Market is back in town and we will not disappoint!
The warmer months are not so much of a distant dream…. Come and explore the fresh foods, refreshing tipples and award winning cuisine on offer. With award winning cheeses, mouth watering treats, jumbo artisan pies and homemade cuisine from around the globe no Manchester tummies will be left rumbling.
Expect…… Summer Spicy Sauces from Los Anjoties, Russian Baked Goodies from Cossack Cuisine, Open Topped Growlers from Cumbrian Pie, Valentines heart shaped strawberry Cheeses from Cheshire Cheese Co, Sweet and Savoury hot Samosas from Perfect Samosa, South African Biltong from Gavins Biltong, DIY Pizza Kits from Dough It Yourself, Sweet Treats from Burton Roads very own The Dish That Ran Away With The Spoon, Smoked Salmon from Mcr Smoke House and speciality teas from Parched Tea.
To wet your whistle there will be Artisan Gins from Rose Cottage, Locally crafted Ales and Artisan Gins from The Polo Horse Trailer and hot beverages to warm your cockles from Little Espresso.
If that Spring Clean has left those home walls a little bare, our local artists and photographers will be sure to leave you with options galore with their original artworks, illustration and design, iconic Photography and handmade textiles.
Have a nosy at the design of Lorna Lucus, Sunflowers in the sea, Mark Bird, Sarah Gregory, David Gee, Sue Scott and The No 71 Legend Rooms to name but a few of the superb artists who will be showcasing.
There will be hand crafted jewellery by Chiron and Honey Bee Design, retro inspired gifts from I Love Upcycle and handmade Robots from Gizmobots, each bot lovingly made by Mark and each with a unique story to tell. With the awesome photography of Art of Landscape and Ben Sedman and the pretty handmade craft from Dotty Red time is likely to fly.
If you love having a rummage in grandma’s attic, come and play finders keepers with us and check out the quirky and curious at the stalls of Vintage For Homes, Little House Interiors and Tramyard Vintage.
Is it too early to mention Festivals?!….. Get Boho Ready with items from Raggie Annes. Wanting some blooms for your homes but too cold to plant out?… Check out the colourful tinned window sill plants from Shrubbies and The terrariums from the Glass Gardener.
Street food is back with 1 new face!!…. The Boys from Whats Your Beef will be joining us serving proper burgers, made from local, ethically sourced grass fed beef. But come early!…. As their bad boy burgers don’t hang around for long!….
If that health kick is still going, check out The Ottomen selling contemporary Ottoman and Mediterranean inspired cuisine created with passion. The pizza ovens will be fired up courtesy of The Pizza Maker.
If Bao, Gyoza and Homemade Kimchi is your thing, say hello to the awesome Wallace and Sons selling Meaty and Vegan Beats. In The Dog Haus will be selling their awesome German Bratwurst with and American Twist helping us to remember that Bratwurst is not just for Christmas, it’s for life!
Craving something sweet for afters, tuck into a delicious Nutella and Strawberry Crepe from Crepe Chateau.
Sunday January 29th sees new music on offer at West Didsbury. We cannot wait to showcase the splendidly talented Manchester singer songwriter Izzie Walsh.
Izzie is an Americana/Folk, Singer songwriter from Manchester “A voice like honey wrapped in barbed wire, a sound like thunder on fire, so good.” Andrew Mills ‘Plugging Nothing’ Blog. We just know you guys are going to love her and give her that warm West Didsbury Welcome that you are so good at.
We are thrilled to also have community group The Greyhound Gap with us. The Greyhound gap rescues and rehabilitates greyhouds and lurchers, before finding them a sofa to call their own. Pop down and meet the team and the gorgeous Greyhounds who will be with us on their fun Sunday day out.
